Deloitte UK has appointed two new names to its
tax management consulting group, as part of plans to expand in this
area.

Fiona Jones joins as an associate partner from
BP where she previously led its global technology network. She has
experience in the tax areas of the energy, chemicals, utilities and
manufacturing sectors in various roles, including BP, ICI and
United Utilites.

Josef Macdonald joins as a director from Ernst
& Young where he was the global XBRL leader. He has 12 years of
experience in assurance and advisory services and 10 years of
participating in various XBRL projects globally, including leading
the IASB’s XBRL team.

Deloitte’s head of tax management and
consulting Alan MacPherson said the appointment of Jones and
Macdonald is valuable to Deloitte’s plans to expand tax
management.

“Effective reporting and efficient tax
solutions are moving up the agenda as improved governance,
increased transparency and risk management become increasingly
important for business”, said MacPherson.
