Deloitte Canada intends to strengthen its
South Western Ontario practice merging with professional services
firm Horne based in Burlington at the end of July.

The merger would see the addition of 35 staff
to Deloitte and an expansion to its mid-market client service.

Deloitte South Western Ontario managing
partner Adam Burke said Horne has built a reputation for being a
trusted adviser to their clients in its 70 years serving in the
Burlington marketplace.

“They have an intimate knowledge of the
marketplace, and we’re excited about exchanging lessons learned and
building on the relationships they have fostered,” he said.

Deloitte Canada has 7,700 people in 58 offices
and according to the International Accounting Bulletins
most recent Canada survey Deloitte is the largest professional
services firm reporting revenue of C$1.4bn ($1.3bn) in the year to
31 May 2009.
