New Zealand’s Maori business team.
Wijohn will also become an accounting and advisory partner at

trusts.
“Wijohn brings strong connections with Maori businesses and

relationships at Deloitte,” Deloitte New Zealand chief executive

Accountants, which he established in Auckland in 2005. He currently
serves on the National Maori Accountants Network (Nga Kaitatau

He is also chair of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered
Accountants Maori accountants special interest group, Auckland
region.
Wijohn said he hopes his appointment will encourage more Maori
students to think of accounting as a career.
“There is a real need for more Maori accountants to work with
Maori businesses, as less than 2% of accountants in New Zealand are
Maori,” he added.
