US accounting firm BKD, a member of the
Praxity Global Alliance, will collaborate with IASeminars to teach
open enrolment and in-company IFRS courses throughout the US.

The courses will serve as an educational
resource for IFRS topics, including:

–         First-time
adoption of IFRS;

–         Preparing
financial statements in accordance with IFRS; and

–         Major differences
between IFRS and GAAP.

BKD and IASeminars, an independent provider of
training courses on IFRS, will teach the course through a team of
instructors.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission
plans to decide next year whether the US will adopt IFRS.

BKD national accounting and auditing director
Doug Bennett said he believes a shift to the global standards is
imminent and is creating increased demand for training and
education.

“Through the collaboration with IASeminars,
BKD advisors specialising in IFRS will assist CPAs and other
professionals seeking guidance on this complex changeover,” Bennett
said.
