BDO remains head of overall UK AIM ranking for Q2 2019

BDO increased its advantage over Grant Thornton and KPMG in terms of number of AIM clients in the UK, with an additional 11 clients compared to the previous quarter, according to Adviser Rankings.

This left BDO with 163 clients, 51 ahead of Grant Thornton’s 112 and 54 ahead of KPMG’s 109.

BDO’s lead increase followed a merger with Moore Stephens LLP which took place in February. The merger will likely see the combined firm become the fifth biggest in the UK, overtaking Grant Thornton.

BDO took the lead in the Financials sector with 29 clients, and maintained its lead of Basic Materials with 27 clients and Consumer Goods and Consumer Services with 16 clients in each sector, among other sectors.

KPMG joined PwC on the top spot of the FTSE AIM 100 rankings with 23 clients, after a gain of 2. PwC remained static from the last quarter, leaving BDO, Deloitte, and Grant Thornton to share third place.

The AIM 50 rankings do not highlight any radical changes to the order. PwC was ahead with index numbers and their collective market value. Deloitte followed in second place and KPMG in third. BDO took fourth place after increasing its number of clients to seven.
