BDO Malaysia has added the partners and staff
of UHY Penang and Grant Thornton Law & Associates (GTLA) in
Cambodia.
GTLA staff are all leaving Grant Thornton
following the network’s decision to establish a new firm in the
country. They will join BDO Malaysia as it fully supports BDO’s
Cambodian business.
BDO Cambodia will have more than 30 staff,
mainly serving listed companies as the firm is one of three
accredited by the Securities Exchange Commission of Cambodia.
UHY Penang will become part of BDO Malaysia’s
northern practice office, which now has 70 staff and partners.
Across the country, BDO Malaysia will have
close to 600 staff, including 40 partners and directors.
BDO Malaysia and regional senior partner for
Asia-Pacific Gan Ah Tee said that with the firms expanded presence
and capabilities, “we are in a better position to serve our clients
wherever they are, in line with BDO’s client proximity
proposition”.
Both firms will become a part of the BDO
Malaysia network from 1 July.
