BDO and Grant Thornton Hong Kong (HK) have
finalised their mergers plans.
BDO HK chairman and chief executive Albert Au
confirmed both firms have gone through the due diligence process
and a merger agreement has now been signed.
The admission of 28 Grant Thornton HK partners
will bring BDO’s total headcount to more than 1,000 staff with more
than 70 partners and about 200 clients listed locally and
overseas.
Grant Thornton HK partners Patrick Rozario,
Andrew Lam and Jonathan Leong will join BDO’s executive board.
BDO International’s chief executive Jeremy
Newman said expanding BDO’s presence in HK is in line with the
strategic growth plans of BDO both regionally and
internationally.
