BDO Perth has acquired PKF Australia’s Perth
tax team.

The acquisition includes five tax partners, 50
staff and annual revenue of A$12m ($10.9m). This boosts BDO’s Perth
tax division staff to 110 and total staff to about 230.

The partners are Mark Pollock, Craig Melville,
John Murray, Marc Loftus and Joe Evangelista.

BDO national chairman Tony Schiffmann said the
addition of the PKF tax experts is part of the firm’s broader
national strategy.

“BDO is enhancing its specialist services to
meet soaring client demand. This reinforces BDO’s focus on
expanding its key sectors, including natural resources,” Schiffmann
said.

“BDO believes that every client has
distinctively different needs. We are proactive in anticipating the
changing needs of our clients by ensuring we can provide the right
expertise in the most appropriate places.”

Big Four firm Deloitte has also acquired three
audit partners from PKF Perth.

Schiffmann said PKF no longer has a presence
in Perth, which is Australia’s fourth largest city and the largest
city in the state of Western Australia.
