BDO UK has appointed Greg Rubins as partner
and head of its public sector audit practice.

Rubins will be responsible for providing audit
and advisory services to public sector clients and will specialise
in health and local government.

He joins the firm from PwC where he was head
of the south coast public sector team.

“The public sector is undergoing significant
change, most notably with the opening up of Audit Commission
contracts to the private sector. Organisations are under financial
pressure and are having to make difficult decisions in order to
deliver more for less. Strong financial control and effective risk
management have never been more important.  All of this offers
great opportunities for BDO,” Rubins said.
