BDO has added its first member firm in
Albania.
BDO said that BDO Croatia is taking the lead
in developing the firm in its initial stages and that the firm has
been established with the cooperation of local firm PBM.
BDO Albania will specialise in audit, tax,
advisory, risk assessment, internal audit services and services to
foreign investors.
BDO Albania managing partner Limos Malaj said
this is the right time for BDO to establish a presence in the
country. “The new law on auditing, which came into force in 2009,
has significantly remodeled the organisation of the accounting and
auditing profession in our country. Among other changes, there is
now a public oversight board overseeing the professions activities,
and clearer requirements on matters such as continuing professional
education, a code of ethics and transparency reports,” Malaj
said.
