Baker Tilly International has added the former Russian member of Grant Thornton, ZAO Grant Thornton, to the network and as a result is expected to enter the top 10 ranking in the country.
Following the addition, Baker Tilly International said that its new member and the existing member, Baker Tilly Russaudit, were in an advance stage of merger discussions. Both firms are now trading as Baker Tilly Russia.
According to Baker Tilly International the combined firm would report total fee income of RUB 1bn and as such should make Baker Tilly international one of the Top 10 largest network in Russia.
In International Accounting Bulletin latest Russia survey, Baker Tilly International ranked 14th in Russia with fee income of RUB389.7m in FY15.
International Accounting Bulletin estimates that the former ZAO Grant Thornton member firm had fee income of RUB725.1m in FY14 and as such Baker Tilly International could well overtake Grant Thornton in the ranking and become the 7th largest network in Russia.
In August 2014 Grant Thornton admitted to its network, FBK Grand Thornton a former firm of PKF International, the new member was made sole member firm in Russia in January 2015, and according to International Accounting Bulletin latest Russia survey it reported RUB 1,029.6 in the year to 30 September 2014.
