Baker Tilly China merges with VICPA

Baker Tilly China has expanded its services through a merger
with Vocation International CPA (VICPA) the 9th
largest accounting firm in China, according to the network.

The combined entity will now operate as Baker
Tilly China.

VICPA, who was previously a member of UHY
International, has offices in 12 locations across China including
Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hunan, and 1,200 professional staff
with annual turnover of CYN430m ($63m).

The firm’s client base includes companies
listed on the Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong stock exchanges,
state-owned enterprises and those in the private sector.

“The Chinese accountancy profession is in a
period of evolution, with the government encouraging consolidation
in the market to create a small number of large national firms,”
Baker Tilly International chief executive and president Geoff
Barnes said.
