Tasmanian firm Davern Dixon and Adelaide firm mhm have merged with Deloitte Australia.
Davern Dixon will join the Deloitte Launceston office on 1 June.
The combined office will have 60 staff, which Deloitte said will make it one of the largest in northern Tasmania.
Devon Dixon managing partner Peter Dixon said the decision to join Deloitte was due to an increase in demand for the firm’s services.
“This move by our partners and staff to Deloitte will provide clients with access to a wider variety of technical and operational expertise as part of a national firm,” Dixon said.
Mhm is a South Australian firm with 13 partners, 130 staff and offices in Adelaide, Perth and Hong Kong.
Mhm specialises in audit, tax and consulting services and Deloitte said the combined firm will be the most dominant IT and business consulting practice in South Australia with 28 partners and more than 340 staff.
Mhm managing partner and chief executive John Hood said the union will give staff more career opportunities, enhanced the firm’s systems and processes, and provide a more comprehensive service offering.
