Andrews takes helm at RSM McGladrey

Charles Elliott Andrews is to take over as president of RSM McGladrey from 29 June, having most recently served as president of US student loan funder SLM Corporation following a 29-year career with Arthur Andersen.

Andrews replaces Steve Tait, who resigned on 30 April having served as president since 2003. Andrews began his career with Arthur Andersen in 1974 becoming a partner in 1984 and held key leadership roles at the US national practice and Arthur Andersen Global until 2002. After Andersen stopped performing professional services in 2002, he remained with the firm to assist with its break up.

RSM McGladrey & McGladrey and Pullen was the fifth-highest fee earning firm in the US in 2008 with combined fee income just short of $1.5 billion, according to International Accounting Bulletin data.
