Paul Aversano has been appointed global head
of Alvarez & Marsal’s (A&M) Transaction Advisory Group.

Aversano was previously an A&M managing
partner based in the firm’s global headquarters in New York. In
2006, he helped to launch the firm’s first dedicated Transaction
Advisory Group and also serves as chairman of A&M’s Transaction
Advisory Executive Committee.

A&M has also strengthened its European
Financial Services Group (EFSG) with the appointment of Nils
Melngailis as managing director.

Melngailis has 18 years of experience in
complex operational and balance sheet restructuring, creditor
relations, strategy implementation, transaction management and
performance improvement.

Previously, Melngailis served as chief
executive and chairman at Parex Bank, the largest privately-held
bank in the Baltic region.

Melngailis was also a former PwC Baltics
chairman and a senior executive at IBM Services group.

A&M has also appointed senior directors
Agnès Hugot and José de Ochoa and senior associates Heiko Logisch
and Ardeshir Mistri to the EFSG.
