Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has opened its
first office in Mexico as a part of the global firm’s strategy to
expand in Latin America. The firm has appointed Arturo D’Acosta
Ruiz as the managing director and head of A&M Mexico.

Ruiz is currently the chairman of the Mexican
stock exchange’s new listing committee and has 25 years of
experience in advisory and business planning.

A&M co-chief executive Tony Alvarez said
Mexico is an important country for the firm’s Latin American
strategy due to its position as the second largest economy in the
region.

“The firm has long recognised the potential of
the region and is committed to continuing to build its presence
both in Mexico and throughout Latin America,” Alvarez said.

A&M’s other Latin America offices are in
Brazil and Colombia.
