The AGN Women of Impact Award ceremony took place in front of a global virtual audience in May as a tribute to International Woman’s Day 2021.
The award centre-staged the women that showed commitment, energy, tenacity, professionalism and courage in the face of the pandemic.
Among a strong field of applicants, six finalists were selected and asked to participate in a video interview. Congratulations go to:
Wendy Van Eijk – Audit Manager at Q-Concepts, USA
Yi Ping Ge – Director at Gilligan Sheppard Limited, New Zealand
Wendy Harpur – HR Director at BKL, UK
Jennifer Montoya – Manager at Lanigan, Ryan, Malcolm & Doyle, PC in USA
Myfanwy Neville – Partner at BKL in London, UK
Emily Paszkowski – Manager at Hungerford Nichols CPAs + Advisors in USA
The videos were presented throughout the Global-e-Connected virtual event week in May and the overall winner was announced at the closing session.
Congratulations Wendy Harpur, HR Director at BKL, London UK!
Wendy adds, “I’m thrilled and shocked to have won! Thanks AGN and BKL for recognising the often under-appreciated value HR can add through developing inclusive cultures where talent and business thrive. #BeLikeAnnie.”
Wendy was nominated for her commercial and compassionate attributes. She has helped the team at BKL appreciate each other better by championing the value and potential of people – particularly through inclusion and innovation.
In 2020, Wendy co-founded the Beat Bullying Collective, tackling workplace bullying and providing free support to hundreds of people. The introduction of a new feedback tool, which allows people to talk openly and honestly brought positive results and BKL’s clients were extremely grateful for Wendy’s furlough and redundancy consultations.
Wendy was rewarded for her achievements with an expense-paid trip to attend the AGN 2021 World Congress in Miami Florida, USA happening in November!
Malcolm, Global CEO of International adds, “The award ceremony aims to inspire others and reinforces the positive leadership role models and driving both the careers of our leading female professionals and members’ businesses to further success. The AGN association is progressively building our work in this area.”
