Grant Thornton UK launches cyber security audit service in partnership with Lewis Silkin

Grant Thornton UK has partnered with commercial law firm Lewis Silkin to launch a data and cyber security audit service.

Cyber-crime is estimated to cost the global economy $445bn while the average total cost of a single data breach is estimated to be $4m, according to Lewis Silkin. And according to the law firm, in the UK, two-thirds of businesses have been affected by breaches or attacks.

The new service called Datacheckpoint, aims at tackling the issue through a eight-stage audit process. The service is also designed to help clients in the wake of the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Security of Network and Information Systems Directive (NIS Directive). Both of which will come into force from May 2018.
