Deloitte US appoints CEO and chair of the board

Deloitte US has appointed Joseph Ucuzoglu as its CEO and Janet Foutty as chair of the board, effective 2 June 2019.

Ucuzoglu currently serves as chair and CEO of Deloitte & Touche LLP where he has overseen a transformation of its Audit & Assurance practice over the last four years. He also serves on Deloitte Global’s board of directors and sits on a number of external boards including the US Chamber of Commerce.

Previously he served as a senior adviser to the chief accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission, advising on accounting, auditing and public policy matters.

He said: “Our multidisciplinary platform positions us uniquely to lead our diverse stakeholders through a period of disruptive change and capitalize on the rapid pace of innovation.

“It is imperative that, as a business community, we project a positive vision of the many benefits that a technology-driven future will have across our society. We are deeply committed to delivering differentiated value and making a positive impact on our clients, our people and our communities."

Deloitte US’ current chairman Mike Fucci said: “Joe's distinguished record of serving our clients and driving transformative, technology-driven change positions him to lead our firm as clients, the capital markets, and society at large turn to Deloitte to navigate the opportunities brought on by the fourth industrial revolution.”

Foutty is currently the chair and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP and also serves on Deloitte Global’s board of directors. Previously, she led Deloitte’s federal government practice and the Deloitte Consulting technology practice.

She said: “I am committed to ensuring effective, transparent governance while at the same time providing collaborative strategic guidance to Joe and his management team as we strive to further differentiate the value we deliver to the marketplace and fulfil our public interest responsibilities."
