Deloitte partner appointed USA SEC deputy chief accountant

The USA Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has appointed Sagar Teotia as a deputy chief accountant.

Prior to his appointment Teotia was partner at Deloitte USA and he previously has worked with the SEC as an accounting fellow in the office of the chief accountant from 2009 and 2011.

In a statement the SEC said that as deputy chief accountant, Teotia’s responsibilities will include understanding investor and other perspectives on accounting matters and consulting with public companies, auditors , and divisions and offices within the SEC, on the application of accounting standards and financial disclosure requirement.
